Neko’s Daily Activities
From gentle sponge baths to vigorous water splashing and mock swimming, neko likes her evening bath ritual…i like it even more because it makes her relaxed, cleans the weird daily lint deposits from between her little toes, and we get to hang out before bed time…besides, she looks so cute in the baby wrap towel gear…
I read somewhere that babies should not be treated like babies…whatever….if you give a baby a spatula hoping they help you flip that omlette, or a spoon to help you mix the sauce, well, all they do is stick it in their mouth and drool….neko loves helping me in the kitchen….
We have not been so good with the posting, we know, but man, life just is so full right now.
Neko is growing really fast. Yup, she is no longer that little blind soft thing we brought home, but a true baby: dimples, smiles, cries, screams and personality. I sometimes (late at night, when I should be sleeping) look back at pictures of her, and I can’t even believe she was once so small and foreign. I cannot believe she used to fit inside my body. Her hands and feet have been well documented these many months and are a testament to her speedy gonzales ways. We will continue to marvel and be amazed by her.
Neko likes flat surfaces she can roll around on, spit up upon and kick her feet on top of.
We do a lot of hanging around on our bed, it may soon prove too dangerous for our flipping queen, but it is great for some afternoon naps with ima!
We are usually in Accord for summer weekends, so time spent in the Brooklyn home is fun, different, and oddly relaxing. Note our previous post about the car nearly imploding, so we decided not to risk sudden death, but to stay localized and enjoy the park, the weather, the treats, some shopping and most of all each other.
Friday night, despite our car almost exploding in Williamsburg (nice local dude helped out and refused a beer or moulah- oh yeah- told us to pay it forward), and depsite my recent bouts with migraines (am I stressed out by stuff?) we made it to the german beer hall to say goodbye to really special people (special not in the nice way of calling someone retarded but really special). Neko did not seem so upset, or maybe that was her way of dealing with saying goodbye: she passed out before the engine even over heated.

An ode to Monsieur Franck: not only is he the little man inside the computer moving around the cogs and wheels, he is most def nekominimode’s most avid reader and no. 1 fan!

Friday and Saturday were spent in a flurry of flour.
Everything had to be just so for the little crevette; the little one yet to join us but that we hope will spend many quality hours with neko, gossiping, shopping for shoes, cooing at pink bunnies and getting into all kinds of trouble (but not with boys). Andree (mom to be) is one of the most stylish ladies we know so we (together with superstar ladies Becky, Jane and Jen) decided to put together a stylin feast…We hope everyone had as much fun as Franck did (he had many beers) and Neko (she got ooooh and ahhh by everyone).
I am ready to eat some soggy salad left overs and pass out….
