I read in one of my parenting books that when your child falls and his forehead is bleeding, your reaction needs to be calm, cool and collected. They immediately turn to their parents for reassurance, their reaction tied directly to your facial expression. We learned to laugh off neko’s many a day gambles with gravity.
I think she must have gotten the wrong idea as she now enjoys the bath blunders and has adopted them as her new favorite trick.
Man it is cold outside.
The Middle East only gets hot, humid and contentious, not sub zero-ish.
But, nothing will stop us from trying to keep Neko busy, smiling, laughing and enjoying herself. Nothing, not even snow storms, icy side walks and the pain of six teeth coming in right at three in the morning!
The weekend festivities included her cousin Dylan one year birthday party (unbelievable):
Flirting with the future Papa Kusminsky, tumbling with our sweet Nina, helping her multi talented father build things and diving into ball pools.
Yup, she had a superb time.
Neko got two weekends with the americano grandparenst set.
She loves them. No, she adores them. No, she is excited to a new level of squealing we have yet to hear.
Thank you so much for playing with her, for getting down on the floor with her and having her chase you around, for knitting her a scarf (in less than 24 hours), for taking her to various museums to expand her cultural capacities, for schlepping her to NJ family visits and for taking us all out for dinners and dim sum. Thank you for giving the over worked and over tired parents some time off.
Most of all thank you for being you.
Everyone knows how much I like to clean.
I like to clean more than I like to sleep.
I like to organize more than I like to watch Law & Order
I like to dust more than I like chocolate.
Somehow neko is compelled towards a more moderate form of neatness.

Yes way…neko is getting older, wiser and bigger. (and probably smarter than her parents as it seems she got us wrapped around her cute little chunky fingers). Here is to keeping her alive this far!
