Neko’s recent affinity for stacka (stickers) and calling out colors (everything is blue, pink or purple) has us seeking out creative adventures in the snow filled weekends.
We went into to the Children’s Museum of the Arts last week to bring out the artistic spirit of our child: chalk tables means drawing bubbles and cookies for neko; tempra paints means using blue and yellow only and making ink trees got me all dizzy and silly:
The lower level play area had a giant exercise ball pit, where I think I had more fun than neko, if possible:
We finally dragged ourselves away, wet paint in our hair, homemade playdough in our finger nails and a really tired child in our midsts:

Recently we had the total and sheer pleasure of seeing Mae Grobengeiser (yes, she is the prettiest girl we know) two days in a row. Neko and mae headed straight for the tub for some pretend bathing, followed by some pretend cooking (no bath bubbles were present but a lot of rolling wooden carrots were):
We ran into Mae again at the local ice cream parlor, where she insisted on eating green and brown ice cream. Neko just wanted to hold her cone as it dripped slowly all over the floor, ocassionaly licking it and screeching that she had GIDA at everyone on the place.
Oh, and besides sweets, dolls, not sitting in their stroller, the girls share the love for: their daddies!
Neko is super lucky:
She has triplicate sets of grandparents, which means triplicate amounts of cheek pinching, gift giving, and love.
This past weekend she spent it being oohed and ahhed over by Grandma E-E and Savta Regina (aka Sata).
When not marveling at her amazing mechanical capabilities (she can make some Picasso-esque Mr. Potato Heads) or laughing at her jokes (every strainer is also a hat) or chasing her in fresh snow (check out pink chubby cuteness below) they all sat nicely in their designated places (she commands strangers in restaurants to sit).
Next she needs to learn to fart with the men….wait, she already laughs at her own farts in the tub, going, oh faaaar faaar (good going peter).

I was gone….left neko and father alone for the first time in 21.2 months.
I missed her with a physical ache only a mother can comprehend.
I partied like a rock star and ran with rainbows.
I celebrated my brothers rite of passage into manhood and i slept for 11 hours on end.
During my short absence Peter celebrated Hanukka with Neko like a good jewish dad: lighting the menorah every night, singing songs off key and giving her chocolate coins…..

Not sure why she insists on shoving them into her piggy bank!
Neko has joined the Twitter revolution. You can follow her here:

This morning Neko amused herself making bubbles in her juice by saying the word bubble into the straw.
I think she got the fetish too:

You spin me right round baby right round…..like a record baby…
(turn up the sound)
Clearly a prima ballerina in the making!
It’s the Mannes’ favorite holiday: Thanksgiving.
They go all out and make a feast (smoking turkeys and making really gross ice cream…so gross I don’t understand who ate it all). There were about eleven side dishes….can you imagine having so many serving spoons?
Kieth hosted us in his perfect home (note the lighting conditions and the uber good taste everywhere):
Neko was so awed at the amount of new toys and sheer stuff the girls had in their giant rooms, she was actually speechless (but just for a few minutes)..seriously, we could live comfortably in their doll house!
Thank you Manneses for being such amazing hosts, for giving neko and us so much and for being my family!
