Apparently I got a lot to post about, especially since my subject is inspiring, deliciously cute and one hell of a dancer:

First we thought it was just a plain old fever, but having watched Nemo, The Lion King and Pochano (Pinocchio in Nekoese) and having neko cry that she wants to be lay down, I realized something was off (she even refused ice cream):
After a brave visit at the doctor (neko thought it was funny doc was using q-tips in her mouth and not her ears and tickling her with thermometer under her arm) we got a coxsackie diagnosis (say that fast like 8 times). This basically means that we are home bound (hellish heat outside and contagiousness), watching more movies (i’ve got animation overload) and making the most of it, like playing impromptu dress up:
Truthfully, I was kinda worried that this is what brought it all on, but ends up it may just be the sandbox:

The only possible way to escape the heat wave this weekend was a visit to the watering hole. By that we do NOT mean the fine establishments Peter (and Franck) like to visit but a naturally occurring deep icy pool:
Only problem is - two seconds later you’re all hot again! When will this heat ever subside?
Also please note that our archives now encompass two years! Woohoo for growing up (and documenting every step of the way).

Our progress thus far:
I read a lot of books.
I obsessed and purchased not one but FOUR different potties.
I gave in and did the rewards thing - Ima, I made a peepeeeee, I get a choket!
And now, I think that having decided to lift the pressure off my own shoulders of having neko potty trained by 2.5 years will ultimately lead to good…..help me believe this guys, please!

Neko spent the weekend at sleep away camp: in Accord with her E-E and Opoo.
She did arts and crafts, gardening, fine motor skill developing, Disney appreciation hour, water play, a lot of wall climbing (which she now does unassisted although I still like to hover nearby) and perfected her nakedness:
Her parents slept in, exercised, re-organized the organized storage bins, and relaxed.
All in all a perfect weekend.
The past few weeks have been filled with balls - soccer balls.
Peter spent every chance he got checking scores, watching highlights and sneaking in recorded games late at night.
Soccer fever even touched neko:
Although Peter may have high hopes for her to be the next maradona (although she must be taller than him by now), for now, we cheer on as she learns to kick, but mostly, she likes to straighten up and color coordinate all the cones, over and over.
The weekend was perfect:
Friends we haven’t seen in ages, with hours of lazing around (between gourmet meals and special cocktails) for catching up…or catching our kids, as they ran, rolled and hid in the luscious acres of the Field Farm. Plenty of time to play with the beautiful twins (neko would shush them, saying stop kying babies, stop), swim in the lake (where neko would beg i wanna go to the blue part - deep end), be naked (neko just wanted to take her clothes off all the time), play with Thomas, Max, Hero, Baby Bu and then be smitten with big girl Lila, who happens to also love Hello Kitty.
The big weekend event takes place in the barn (gotta get shoes on) and we let neko stay up to watch the Field Follies, where her father was part of the opening act, The Arugula. Neko learned to go wooohoooo while clapping, and told everyone it was her birday party.
Maybe next year we will even (shhhh…don’t tell Peter) tent it. Although I kinda like not sleeping with a million bugs, just one big one!
