Turkey and Cousins

We made a count down chart and eagerly awaited the arrival of the older cousins.

Neko adores these girls and the excitement for Thanksgiving weekend mounted - and she was not let down.

It’s amazing to watch neko fit in with these much older girls - their sense of humor (they all think doodie fart jokes are hilarious), their silliness (note pajama dancing), sense of adventure (talk about pulling poison ivy off trees), creativity (lots of art work and pretend play involving badly behaved babies) and their capability to all sleep (almost soundlessly) in the same room (and bed) together is inspiring….imagine we could all have so much pure fun together:

Did I mention how perfect the autumn weather was too?  Here is to many more weekend with the cousins!!

Random Thoughts

Autumn Cutie

It’s been a hectic few weeks at the Bernard Mannes Home so I thought a small post to celebrate neko’s ‘random thoughts’ series was in order:

Scene:  Bathtime (when we have our best talks)

Neko: Mama, am I still young?

Mama: Of course you’re still young

Neko: But I am already three and three quarters

Mama: I know you’re a big girl but you’re still young

Neko: You’re not young

Mama: What do you mean?

Neko: Savta and you are not young

Mama: How do you know that neko?

Neko: Because you don’t sparkle anymore

I nearly peed in my pants.
